"If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is infinite." William Blake 1790

Full View Recommended.... can't see overall scale otherwise

Anyone who I have commented on over the past couple years has seen the quote before. This is what i have wanted to make but didn't know how to express it until know.
Messing with just the textures for weeks... wanted a wet paint look.
This is the first of many revisions. There is a reason for everything in the scene... even the levitating little ones
Layout will get more complex as my machine is upgraded.

Update:
Just purchased Cinema 4D 8+ upgrade to 9.0..... I highly recommend to anyone trying to expand out of Bryce and go
to the next level :)

WOAH! (I love William Blake..:)). This is a very very nice piece of art. Definitely a fav! Its just...so cool!

The only things that are infinite are the universe and the stupidity of man, and I'm not sure about the universe.

Oh man! That's great work full of concept, what you've done! :D
The HDRI images are just so cool! They really do "miracles" ;)
I just still don't know yet if I like those little mens :hmm: I wonder if it would look "cleaner" without them or.. if it would look even better more mens, even smaller, giving the scene an "infinite" look =)

Anyway, great ideia and work

wow, this is beyond good. this is excellent. the texture work you've done is absolutely spectacular. especially on the surface the little guys are resting on.(ice?) it looks awesome. :+fav:
i also think it might be good if you put more guys in there, give it the "infinity" look. another thing would be to tweak the horizon or make the backround image a bit better, it seems slightly out of place. its also the light source in this image too right?
:iconfourtwenty:
awesome! you should be proud of this!

:lick: yumm.... backgroundy goodness. :lick:

awesome work man. as a wallpaper it's most beauteous.

but since youre looking for critiques.. ill give em to yas. :)

im just curious why ya didnt continue the pattern into the lil replicas to make it seem infinte. n im a perfectionist at heart.. so id put in the extra work (and render time) to make the reflection in all of the mini-balls accurate, instead of a replica. but that's just me. n your junctions for the outer ring of the celtic thing are kinda so-so. the texture doesnt seem to transition well there. n they almost seem too sharp to be realistic. but again.. that's just me.

i luv it tho!

As others have stated, the "infinity" idea should be continued with the little figures. The only other thing I can think of might be that the horizon doesn't quite fit right. Other than that, you can't go wrong with those little guys. :D Nice quote and way of materializing it into a picture. Nice job man. Can't wait to see more.

It's a damn nice render, great reflections and all that. The composition is alright, but some things could be changed, IE the background. It's not distracting of in the way,but that may be the problem. Needs more to it.

And I'm not fond of the littler versions of the big version (of the guys around the ball) O_o

else, it's quite nice

ps. don't note me to comment, take what you get when you get it. I'll comment exactly when i mean to.

Very nice. I agree with the previous commentors who said you should add more sets of people sitting in each tiny set (so its kinda like a fractal)... You might want to lower the people because it seems like they are levatating (unless that was intentional)

I love how the curved reflection of the rings make them look like a grid of straight lines. =)

Awesome materials btw

That turned out just amazing. Your render is perfect looking in every way. I love the design and the modeling and the colors and reflections are excellent. Very very nice work. (makes me want to play with Bryce again)
